There are many sealants available, but a lot of the food-safe sealants require careful mixing, otherwise if you're just sealing a small area you might have wastage to contend with. That is not the case with sausages, where you just apply what you need using the gun, and can store the rest for later use.

The Sika 11 FC cartridges can be used for a number of different indoor and outdoor applications, as can Sika FC Sausages, which are good for joint sealants in a number of fields, including soundproofing pipes between concrete and sheathing, and for use with vertical and horizontal joints. They can be used to caulk between partitions, to seal seams and to seal metal or wood, as well as around vents. These versatile sealants can be used for a number of prefabricated environments, and since they are both flexible and elastic they can handle situations that other sealants can't. They are suitable for being painted over with most flexible paints.
